TELLING STORIES OF

LIFE. LAUGHTER. LOVE.

TWO BECAME THREE | ANDIE JOSEPHINE’S BIRTH STORY

There are times in your life that you get to witness amazing raw strength and beauty. This birth story was one of those times.

We had all been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Josh and Cory’s sweet baby girl. Cory and I would check in with each other for updates on how she and baby were doing, and if there was any new progress or changes. The weeks moved right along – 38 weeks pregnant… 39 weeks… 40 weeks… 41 weeks… you get the picture, baby girl was just WAY too cozy to come join us!

My husband and I were leaving town in just a few short days, and it was starting to look like I might not even be able to be with them for the arrival of baby Andie. I remember praying each day that the Lord would allow for things to smoothly progress for Cory and baby, so that she would not need to be induced, and that I would be able to be with them when it came time to deliver.

Finally, it was Sunday afternoon, I looked down at my phone and saw the long awaited message from Cory… “On our way to hospital – pretty sure water just broke!”

You could feel the anticipation and excitement. Soon, they would have their precious gift. Soon, it would all be worth it.

Take a look at their incredible birth story below.

Cory’s body was working so hard, using every last ounce of strength and energy, with each passing contraction and labor pain.

Josh, watching the woman that he loves, the mother of his child, fighting with all that she had to bring their baby into the world. There is something so moving, and powerful, about a husband’s desire and desperation to be able to make it all better and take the pain away from the one he loves.

“Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. ‘So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

As Sunday came to an end, they focused on the little blessing that awaited them.

It was a long sleepless night, and exhaustion was setting in. On the horizon, the sun rose.

It was a new day.

The day that they would meet their sweet girl.

{10:34 pm} Welcome to the world, Andie Josephine!

Daddy seeing his brand new baby girl for the first time… one of those priceless moments.
